The holiday season is all about giving – and for nearly three decades, Lou Bachrodt Auto Mall has been proud to keep that spirit alive through one of Rockford’s most gratifying community traditions: the 28th Annual “12 Hours of Salvation” Toy Drive.
Join us on Friday, December 5th, from 7 AM to 7 PM, as we team up once again with 13 WREX, Q98.5, 97 ZOK, 96.7 the Eagle and the Salvation Army to collect toys, spread cheer, and make the holidays brighter for local children and families in need.
A Tradition of Giving Back
Now celebrating its 28th year, the “12 Hours of Salvation” Toy Drive has become a hallmark of generosity in the Stateline area. Each December, our Lou Bachrodt Auto Mall transforms into a holiday hub of activity – with cars, community members, and Christmas spirit all working together toward one goal: ensuring every child wakes up to something special under the tree.
Every new, unwrapped toy donated stays right here in our community, distributed through the Salvation Army to families who need it most. It’s a simple way to make a big difference – and a reminder that when we give together, we all shine a little brighter.
How to Participate
Taking part in the toy drive is easy:
- When: Friday, December 5th | 7 AM – 7 PM
- Where: Lou Bachrodt Auto Mall, 7070 Cherryvale North Blvd, Rockford, IL
- What to Bring: A new, unwrapped toy for a child or teen
Can’t make it on the day of the event? Early drop-offs are welcome! You can also shop from home and ship your gift straight to Lou Bachrodt Auto Mall OR donate directly to our virtual kettle and the Salvation Army team will purchase needed items.

During the event, 13 WREX, Q98.5, 97 ZOK, and 96.7 the Eagle will be broadcasting live throughout the day – capturing the excitement, the stories, and the steady stream of generous donors driving in to make a difference. Expect festive music, friendly faces, and plenty of holiday magic in the air.
