The ComEd EV Rebate Process: 5 Simple Steps
Step 1: Dealer Registration
Dealerships or vehicle manufacturers, which include OEMs or new vehicle upfitters, must register with the program administrator to become a participating dealer.
Step 2: Fleet Operator Coordination
Fleet vehicle operators, which include commercial entities and public agencies, coordinate with participating dealers and OEMs to purchase qualifying EVs.
Step 3: Voucher Application
The dealer submits a voucher application to the program administrator for the rebate amount. Once approved, the fleet operator purchases the EV at a cost reduced by the rebate amount.
Step 4: Vehicle Delivery
The EV is manufactured and delivered to the fleet operator within 12 months of the voucher approval, or before the program closure date of Dec. 31, 2025, whichever comes earlier.
Step 5: Documentation Submission
The dealer submits the required documentation to the program administrator within 90 days of delivery to receive full reimbursement of the approved voucher amount.
