The 26th Annual ’12 Hours of Salvation’ Toy Drive Success

We did it, thanks to you! The “12 Hours of Salvation” toy drive was a hit, and we would like to thank the awesome Rockford, IL community we are a part of. You and local businesses came together to give back during this season. With your help, we made the 26th annual toy drive a huge success! As you can imagine, a twelve-hour toy drive requires LOTS of volunteers, so we would like to thank Machine Shed and Gerry’s Pizza for feeding Santa and the crew throughout the day.

Marketing Director Tracy Beyer says, “This is absolutely our most favorite day of the year. This event continues to be such a magical success because of the generosity of the Greater Rockford community and our Partners that help spread the word to our neighbors and friends. We appreciate 13 WREX, Q98.5, 96.7 the Eagle, and 97 ZOK more than they’ll ever know!”

Businesses including Scandroli Construction Company, Byron Autobody, Color Pros, Midwest Laborers Private Health Exchange, Parson’s Collision, and Midwest Wheel Covers donated to our Virtual Kettle to the tune of over $3,000!

We also want to give a HUGE shout-out to these local businesses and organizations that went above and beyond collecting toys for all the kiddos this holiday. 425 Manufacturing, Slidematic Precision Components, New Leaf Remodeling, KenCo, Aramark, Blaine & Hunter United Methodist Church, and Northern Illinois Corvette Club donated a combined 1,300 toys. PLUS Dickerson & Nieman Realtor’s annual donation of over 50 bikes and helmets!

The amazing Jodi Beach used her talents to fill the showroom with wonderful music. We also heard from musicians and groups including the Christian Life Musical Theatre Class, Emerald Wind, Jodi Beach & Jim McDowell, Ron Holm, and the Rockford Temple Salvation Army Band. They delighted volunteers, staff, and visitors alike.

While toys and donations are still trickling in we’ve managed to collect 4,761 toys and $8,433.56 for the Salvation Army of Winnebago County. That’s 1,700+ children that have a gift to open come Christmas Day thanks to your generosity. A very Merry Christmas to you from the whole team here at Lou Bachrodt Auto Mall.
